Feedback on this The Staffing and Patient Ratios is a widely recognized issue, especially working as a stepdown ICU nurse, there is no clear staffing ratio law that is in place in New York State and despite having specified ratios our hospital has set for us, it is getting violated almost every shift. Our unit is actually working with our Union to take a stand and enforce these ratios for better clinical outcomes for our patients, emphasizing on rehabilitation and health teachings to prepare our patients for discharge and self-care. So this PICOT question is something I would personally like to explore. Our findings could guide decision-making processes related to staffing levels and hopefully lead to improved patient care, reduced adverse events, and enhanced staff satisfaction.
