"In today's society men populate most labor-intensive jobs and women populate most nursing-type positions. As a society men are expected to handle labor driven positions and women are seen to be more caring. There is a stigma that men do not enjoy being referred to as a nurse; it carries a very strong gender stereotype. Today, the language we use to title positions can create diversity, milkman, policeman, fireman and garbage man are a few examples. The pay rate among men and women in conflicting roles has leveled out over the past several years, making gender roles less apparent in the work force. "
