Reply to the following: Today, I believe it depends on every individual person. In my opinion, I feel as if we are divided. There has defiantly been worse times, but as of right now there are many views that some believe in and others just downright refuse to acknowledge. Especially with the election coming up. To feel "connected" is to have faith and be able to hear out everyone's point of views so we can get along. As of right now, social media is a prominent aspect in almost everyone's lives and I believe it is ruining the connection between the American people as well as America itself. There is arguments and the government is high profile on this apps, persuading people to join by using their favorite things to persuade them. Personally, I don't think this is right. Social media was not intended as an outlet to post government views and to advertise. This is influencing young people's and they still are learning and this is persuading them to one side without all the facts. We as Americans are split depending on where you live. I do not feel as if we are as connected as we should be. We should be able to hear each other out and find common ground but once again, with the election we cannot. In the waste land the people are apathetic and unfulfilled. They lack emotion and significance. I do not believe we are to this point yet today but not long from now, with no progress, we may be. If we don't come together and become the country we claim to be, then we will never get ahead of succeed.
