Assignment task: Nestle is facing serious criticism for its usage of a public resource and the adverse impact it is having on the environment.
Like any corporation Nestle has to address the needs of its stakeholders. In this case we can see that while it is working to remain profitable in a competitive environment, it is doing so at the cost of other stakeholder groups.
Question 1: How should Nestle address the issues of groundwater usage and the concerns of the residents of Mecosta county? Keep in mind that Nestle has other stakeholder groups such as owners and employees that will be harmed by downsizing production.
Question 2: What regulations should be put in place regarding businesses and the usage of public resources like water?
Question 3: In the future, if Nestle were to open another plant in a different part of the world how might it engage with stakeholder groups and structure its operations in order to avoid such controversy in the future?
