Problem:
Meth manufacture and prescription drug misuse have led to greater restrictions for the common person trying to purchase medication at the pharmacy. Currently, you are required to have your driver's license recorded every time you purchase Sudafed (and/or some addictive medications). Some complain this is a violation of individual privacy rights, resulting from abuses by a small percentage of people.
How should legislatures balance the risk of abuse with the inconvenience to law-abiding consumers in regulating drug-making behavior?
