Read EITHER the FAA Risk Management Handbook OR the FAA Operator's Manual: Human Factors in Aviation Maintenance. Choose the book that best fits into your area of study (or interest if not in aviation). Both publications are available for free PDF download from the FAA websites listed below. The goal for the paper is for the student to pick one or two items in the FAA material then write to that, explain how it is used in the students' work/personal life, i.e., not a review of the entire material presented in each book. For example, if the student is a pilot, choose something from the FAA Risk Management Handbook that the pilot could use to help determine risk and how it can be applied during preflight or flight.
