Option 1: Revenge is often a factor in stories of injustice. Compare the idea of revenge in "The Lesson" and "Saboteur." What role does revenge play in each story? How might readers respond to such revenge-i.e., how might it affect the way readers receive/respond to the characters?
Option 2: What can we learn from "The Lesson" about noticeable consumption and commodification (i.e., capitalist ideology)? How does the story use its representation of these capitalist realities to criticize class oppression?
