Assignment task:
I find conversations on this topic to be interesting. For example, some of you may know that Psychology used to be somewhat of a "boys club". Unfortunately, during the field's early years females were severely restricted from the field and there were hardly any female psychologists. Fast forward to today, however, and most students who study Psychology are female and there are more females than males who are becoming psychologists. For many of you this may be consistent with your own experiences in Psychology courses. In fact, in many of my Psychology classes, both as a student and as a Professor, males have almost always been the minority. During my Master's, I was the only male in the overwhelming majority of my classes which was interesting. What are your thoughts about this? Why (or how) do you think this shift came about?
