Problem: Half of all major political campaign budgets are earmarked for television advertising. The overwhelming majority of political TV ads are "negative" or "attack" ads. Media experts believe that negative political advertisements (and newscasts) often include statements that are flatly untrue.
What if anything should the media do when that happens? Pick any one of the many negative attack ads or blatantly biased political news stories that littered television over the past election cycle that you personally disagreed with or felt "went too far." Discuss what limits, if any, you would like to see to address "reckless" journalism (cite any of the media references from Chapter 10 that exemplifies your position).
