How much variability in individual behavior is tolerated

Problem:

As described by Funder (2019), cultures vary in terms of "tightness-looseness." This refers to is how much variability in individual behavior is tolerated within a particular culture, community, or setting (Funder, 2019). Cultures that are "tighter" permit less deviation from implicit and explicit norms, whereas cultures that are "looser" permit more variability in terms of norms.

Think about your own culture of origin. Would you describe your culture as tight, loose, or somewhere in between? Why? How did that affect the person you are today?
