Look at all the packaged foods that you eat currently or from foods that you regularly consume. Record the name of the item, amount of sodium per serving, and how many servings that you usually consume daily.
Add up the sodium in the packaged foods that you consume. This still does not count other prepared foods (dorms, restaurants, etc.).
Questions to answer:
1. How much sodium did you consume from the packaged food?
2. Do you think this is too much, about right, or very little?
3. Do you think that you should try to find lower-sodium choices?
4. Do you really think a lot of sodium is problematic (based on class discussion)?
