The scholarly community would find the research study significant because it effects a large amount of individuals in multiple locations. Doctors are an essential part of the healthcare workforce and without them the healthcare field would be affected greatly. The pandemic has left long lasting effect that have affected multiple organizations and groups of people. One of them being doctors. Practitioners in my field of healthcare would benefit from the information brought about from the research study. "More data are needed to fully understand how healthcare quality has been affected but one area with evidence of a decrease in quality of care is preventive healthcare" (Quality in healthcare, 2021). There is not enough information currently on the effects of the pandemic on doctors specifically. This study will help bring forth information on what doctors went through and are currently going through because of the pandemic. We are aware of some effects of the pandemic like "the extended and unrelenting pressures imposed by COVID-19 are disproportionately affecting women physicians and physicians of color" (Dill, 2021). With the information brough forth from the proposed research study, practitioners in healthcare can bring awareness to some of the major issues that are going on in healthcare. The leaders in healthcare should be aiming to help stop disparities in healthcare. By initiating more research on the effects the pandemic has had on healthcare and doctors, more information will be brought of up from the research conducted. Shining a light on areas of healthcare that may be overlooked like doctors having long lasting effects from the pandemic helps to benefit healthcare as a whole and the care it gives.
