Assignment: Document Analysis Paper
Choose a construct or process, such as motivation, empowerment, isolation, goal-setting, problem-solving, and so forth, using your TV observation and your interview data set as possible sources of context.
Find an archive of transactional documents that contain evidence of your chosen construct. Transactional documents may include minutes of meetings, conference programs, a collection of organizational mission statements, the evolution of a product, and so forth, but not scholarly articles.
Conduct an analysis of the documents of which you have chosen to obtain a deeper understanding, as well as the meaning of the construct that evolves from the documents.
Write a 1,750 to 2,100 words paper documenting your analysis that includes:
i. A description of the construct
ii. A description of the document set you used
iii. A description of the sampling method you used to choose a few documents to review
iv. A description of the data analysis approach you used
v. The steps in your data analysis
vi. The results of your analysis
Include responses to the following reflection questions:
i. What documents could you have used instead of or in addition to the ones you used?
ii. How might the sampling method you used influence the results?
iii. How did this experience compare to your analyses of observation data and interview data?
iv. What have you learned about the stance of a case study researcher?
Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
i) The answer should be typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), double spaced, with one-inch margins on all sides.
ii) The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
iii) Also include a reference page. The Citations and references must follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
