1) Based upon your knowledge of cell wall structure, explain how the microbes causing meningitis and typhoid fever can induce fever and systemic shock in an infected patient.
2) Are fungal spores or protozoan cysts more similar to bacterial endospores? Support your answer.
3) It is generally easier to cure bacterial infections of humans than protozoan or fungal infections. Can you speculate why that might be, based on the cell type of each?
