A. How many women are raped at some time in their lives?
B. What factors predispose men to become rapists?
C. If we could do only one thing to reduce the incidence of rape, what would be the most effective? Is the most effective intervention individual or societal?
D. When child molesters are released from prison, how likely are they to reoffend?
E. How do you distinguish between flirtation and sexual harassment? Give examples of each and discuss. Are there gender differences? Does it make a difference whether one person is in a position of authority over the other? A peer? Dating? Has concern about sexual harassment changed people's behavior?
F. Determine the difference between sexual aggression, sexual coercion, sexual assault, sexual pressure, and rape. People often use the terms interchangeably, resulting in considerable confusion, as people may be arguing about different things.
G. Discuss the four causes of rape: victim-precipitated, psychopathology of rapists, feminist, and social disorganization.
