If you live in Anne Arundel County, you can find most of the information that you will need on the Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works website. You will have search among the different tabs for all of the answers to the questions listed below.
If you live in another county, you will have to start your search my Googling "municipal solid waste disposal county name", inserting your county's name for the italicized terms.
Answer the questions below about residential waste disposal in your county:
A. How many active landfills exist in your county?
B. Is the county government responsible for curbside pickup available in your county? If not, how do citizens arrange for curbside pickup?
C. How much does waste disposal cost per year for a household in your county? For most counties in Maryland (including AA county) MSW is trucked out of state for disposal. It is very difficult to find the name of the facility that receives this waste. Where is your county's residential waste (MSW) ultimately disposed? To get the points, you must also provide a trustworthy source for your information. Recycling:
