Problem
How is would you reply? Surface water is the water that is visible on the Earths surface. Some examples are rivers, lakes, and oceans. It is stored in bodies of water. It is used for drinking water, swimming, boating, fishing, and any other aquatic activities. A challenge of surface water is surface water pollution. The problems are pathogens that cause types of waterborne diseases. Unlike surface water groundwater is found below the earth surface. It can be found in rock and soil. It can be accessed by humans from springs or wells. Just like surface water it is used for drinking water, however unlike surface water it is used for industrial water. Surface water and groundwater interact in an interesting way. The surface water recharges into the soil, and groundwater discharges into the surface.
