Instructions: Write a 3-page, double-spaced essay on the following topic:
How is our current world much like the word portrayed in Gibson's short story "Johnny Mnemonic"? What does the story tell us about technology? Is that message (or even lesson) still valid today?
Essay structure: You are free to structure your essay, as you wish; however, you must have at least three body paragraphs, so it may be wise to follow standard 5 paragraph essay form. For a review of this format.
Documenting sources: Your essay should be in MLA form, include at least one quotation per body paragraph (i.e., at least three quotations in your essay). Also, do include a Works Cited page. For a review of MLA format, see the MLA presentation posted in this week's Connect folder.
Varying your quotation method: Varying your use of quotations adds to your essay's readability and, ultimately, to the persuasiveness of your argument. We will discuss a number of strategies for using quotations this term.
