Think about the different types of regimes that exist in the world, their sources and scopes of power, how they operate, with what consequences, and how they should be interacted with on the IR stage. Several articles and movies on this topic are posted in the Content section in hopes to get you to react in a critical-thinking way.
You may let your mind flow freely and blog about your thoughts/reactions as you engage with the materials, or answer any of the questions below if you prefer.
How do or did these "scopes" (or "sorts") of power play out, and in which countries, currently or historically? Which ones apply to our lived experience in the USA today or recently? Do you think that our liberal (or pluralist) democracy in the USA is stable? If not, what type of regime could it morph into? Is it okay to fraternize with authoritarian countries, as Israel and the USA are accused in the context of the relatively recently-minted "Abraham Accords," for example? How should IR actors deal with human rights violations in China? Do your answers align with any of the IR ideologies we discussed?
The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
