Which is more important -- 1) economic motivation (defined as performance bonuses, profit-sharing, etc., not as base salaries or wages), or 2) psychological motivation (i.e. feeling part of a team that is achieving something meaningful)? If you could only have one or the other, which form of motivation would contribute more to sustaining a successful business? Why?
