How human beings develop social interest

Assignment:

Discussion

We will focus on Alfred Adler. Adler saw human beings as actors, creators, and artists who adopt a proactive, rather than a reactive, approach to their social environment. This approach, referred to by Adler as lifestyle, reflects each individual's unique, unconscious, and repetitive way of responding to (or avoiding) the main tasks of living: friendship, love, and work. Adler's view of lifestyle resulted in his sentinel theoretical concept of Social Interest.

For the purposes of this discussion, provide a definition of Social Interest based on both your textbook and outside literary sources. Then provide a brief discussion on how human beings develop social interest.

In order to adequately complete this discussion, you must cite the course text and a minimum of one peer-reviewed source.
