Problem:
Vivian, an 84-year-old resident, has limited mobility and a recent assessment indicated that she has started to develop some mild contractures. To help prevent further contracture and maximize Vivian's mobility, the health care team is implementing a restorative program. As part of this program, Randall, a nursing assistant, will be working with Vivian on passive range-of-motion exercises. He starts by positioning her in good body alignment, and then places a bath blanket over the covers. Now he is standing on the left side of the bed.
