Imagine you just told your neighbors that you are Catholic. How do you think they would respond? How would their own immigration status, ethnicity, race, economic status, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, and so on influence their response? Now, imagine you just told your neighbors that you are Muslim. How do you think they would respond? Why?
II. Religion and Social Problems
How has religion been used in your own hometown to address social problems? Are there any faith-based organizations that work toward ending poverty and feeding the hungry? Are any churches in your hometown involved in advocacy for different populations?
