Problem:
Every budget analysis is essential and not necessarily more important than the other. As an administrator, looking at operational budgets is paramount because the day-to-day operations, expenditures, revenues, losses, and more go hand in hand with the success of a business or organization. In many large corporations, these budgets may not be for just one facility but multiple facilities within an organization. It is important to be sure to look at the BIG picture and take into account operations, revenue, cost variance, and any ongoing capital projects. Looking at things from the 30,000-foot overview can provide an excellent overview of whether a business, hospital or even hospital system is succeeding or failing. To take a narrow-minded view of only one analysis would, in my opinion, be short-sided and not provide all of the data for one to be successful.
