As you watch the film The Butler or The Green Book this week, as well as read and view all the other learning resources such as eye of the storm documentary, consider the following:

b) Behavioral, cognitive, and psychological responses to inequality

The Impacts of Social Stratification
What are some tangible and psychological ways that social stratification impacts individuals in the lower, or minority, classes? Use examples taken from "Teaching Ethnic Geography in the 21st Century" chapter 8 by Derek alderman and Joshua Inwood ( A geographic reading of the green book).
Responses to Inequality and Injustice
The films The Butler and The Green Mile demonstrate how members of underprivileged social classes experience and respond to inequality and injustice. Discuss these experiences and responses, giving examples from the film, and comparing the benefits and risks of each.
Perceptions of Social Stratification
Describe the social class(es) in which you perceive to hold membership (and if that has changed over your lifetime). How does that impact your life in positive or negative ways? Use examples. Has your study on this topic changed your perception about the impact of social stratification? Explain these changes and any differences you think will make in how you interact in this stratified society.
