How else do you think making payments at the beginning

Problem:

Thank you for your response and how you were able to calculate the amount needed to be set aside each year to reach the end goal amount of $2 million. I liked how you pointed out two variables that can impact the amount needed to reach the goal with those being cash flow and interest rates. Interest rates often do not remain the exact same over that long of a period so understanding that fluctuating interest rates should be considered. Similarly, life can take everyone by surprise and impact the cash flow coming in each year making it either easier or more difficult to reach the goal amount. For example, during the pandemic, when businesses were shut down and quarantine was in full effect, many people were not able to work, lost their jobs, and experienced their lives being turned completely upside down. As unfortunate as it is, those are instances that can impact achieving saving goals; if someone is in the place to be able to set aside more than needed whenever it may be, this could minimize the impact of chance events such as the pandemic or layoffs.
