Problem
One could argue that the point of a Jane Austen novel is to empower readers to better read people: to expose them, to recognize when they are fake, hypocritical, narrow-minded, unreasonable, ridiculous, or better or different than the face they prepare for the world. Find a spot in the novel where Austen exposes a character. How does the novel expose the character? What does the novel want the reader to see, and why is this insight important?
