As a health care provider, you need to be aware of your patient's religious practices and spiritual needs so that you are able to promote culturally competent care. Before you can assist other you must first consider yourself.
Do you need anything special to pray?
A. How does religion and spirituality differ for you?
B. How will you address this with a patient, (meaning not everyone that is spiritual is religious and not everyone that is religious is spiritual)?
C. What give meaning to your life?
D. How will you respond to a patient that has a different religion than yours?
E. Have you thought of ways to talk to a patient about religion, if so what will you say?
F. How do you see spirituality, religion and health connected?
