i. Identify an instance of foreshadowing in each story and explain how this foreshadowing leads the reader toward the climax of the action. Remember, you can't talk about climax without discussing conflict, so explain the conflict in each story, as well.
ii. Poe believed that every detail in a short story must contribute to the overall effect the author wants to get across to the reader. With this in mind, discuss his use of sound in these stories. How does Poe use sound in each of these tales to enhance the overall effect?
iii. Both of these stories feature a narrator driven to commit a terrible act because of some seemingly insignificant reason who then feels it necessary to confess his crime. Explain what each narrator's motive is and then explain why each is driven to confession.
