How does considering a person with a disability as inspiring

Problem

First, watch Stella Young's (2014) Ted Talk I'm not your inspiration, thank you very much, which introduces the concept of "inspiration porn," or regarding a disabled person as inspiring or motivational for completing everyday tasks.

Then, create an initial post; include responses to two of the following:

1) Consider Stella Young's statement that "Disability doesn't make you exceptional, but questioning what you think you know about it does." How does this connect to or differ from how you have historically understood disability?

2) How does considering a person with a disability as "inspiring" for doing everyday things relate to ableism? (include a connection to at least 1 assigned reading/media from this week)?

3) Describe, upload or link to an example of media that you've encountered online, social media, on campus, in the community, or on TV that fits the description of "inspiration porn." Tell us why you think so.
