A. Examples of how bodies are used or portrayed in advertising and media and analyze the messages it sends regarding gender and sexuality.
B. Why hairless women are "feminine," whereas the presence of body hair on a woman (no matter the reason) is perceived as "masculine." Examples of media that reinforce (or defy) this stereotype/ analyze how body hair is linked with gender and sexuality, and why.
C. Where do "beauty" standards come from and why do these rules seem to apply only to specific genders? How does capitalism influence (acceptable) gender expression?
D. How is virginity or "purity" portrayed in media and what is it's message regarding gender and sexuality. How does the media represent virginity, and what is the effect in our larger culture?
