Problem
Your staff continue to complain that technology has exponentially increased their workload. It is not just the time it takes to document in the electronic system, but the additional burden of for example; utilizing intra aortic balloon pumps, calibrating glucometers, I.V. pumps, remembering how to use the CPM machine, re-setting alarms, etc. etc. They believe it takes away from "patient care."
Recently you overheard a nurse state, "I have no time to even talk to my patients, I'm so busy retrieving data."
