GLOBAL INFLUENCES ON CULTURE
Overview Culture consists of the customs, beliefs, arts and institutions of a group of people. The internet and mass media have provided an outlet for globalization and cultural diversity, allowing many cultures to impact one another simply by the sharing of information. Due to the unprecedented access to cultures, a much wider audience than ever before has a gateway to see, hear, and experience various cultural differences.

• MS Office Prepare Be sure to read and watch all the read/view activities. Create Select, research and analyze an example of American popular culture's influence on another culture or an example of a non-U.S. culture's influence on American popular culture and media.
• How do you define American culture and society?
• What are the differences between the two?
• How has your example of American culture influenced other countries?
• What culture do you most identify with and why?
• Do you believe the world is interconnected? If so, how? Give examples.
• What are the positive and negative effects of cultural diversity?
• Give examples from your research to support your responses. You may write a 2-3 page document with a minimum of 500 words. Your document should be formatted in APA style and include a cover page and header. It should be double-spaced in 12-point Times New Roman font. As an alternative you may instead create a 3-5 minute audio visual presentation including narration, text and images.
