Many of you, especially those in the military, understand the requirements for continual training - this includes initial and inservice training - consider the corrections field - how much training should a newbie receive, and then how often afterwards? - should it be a program that includes political correctness? - how do you convey to trainees the harshness associated with their chosen profession? - how intense should it be? - should there be hands on? - if so how much? - how much follow on/inservice training should there be in a given year? - maybe they should be put in a cell and locked up for a few days to get an idea of what it is like (not in an area with real prisoners), which will include the basics such as meals and hygiene, just like a convict - there will be experienced COs supervising the program to enhance reality - what other ideas might some of you have? 300 words
