Write an essay about religious faith in two works. The works by Harriot and Rowlandson would be good choices. How do these two authors view their faith in contrast to that of the Indians? What do the characters learn about their faith by writing about it? What do the authors reveal about their own faith in their essays? Another possibility would be to discuss the use of Scripture or the focus on faith in the narratives by Rowlandson and Edwards.
