Homework: Autobiography
This homework is where you will put together everything you've learned in this course, the various factors that affect who someone is and how they become that person.
Write an autobiography, but not just any autobiography--your sociological autobiography. The main idea of your autobiography is to explain how you decided to go into the field of health care and what has made you the person you are today.
Tell your life story, where you came from, how you got where you are, etc. using the sociological concepts covered in this course to explain your life.
Concepts should include the following variables:
a. Social class
b. Status
c. Gender
d. Race/ethnicity
e. Religion
f. Role
g. Primary and secondary groups
h. Anything relevant to who you are
Be sure to answer these questions in your sociological autobiography:
a. How do these sociological variables contribute to who you are today?
b. Do you feel you would be a different person if any or all of these variables were changed?
c. Which variables and specific events in your life have resulted in your decision to work in the field of health care?
d. Which of the sociological perspectives (select one of the contemporary sociological theories covered in this course/textbook)covered in this course do you hold with respect to health and medicine? Explain yourchoice.How does this perspective explain why you have chosen to go into this field?
Format your homework according to the give formatting requirements:
a. The answer must be double spaced, typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
b. The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the homework, the course title, the student's name, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
