Problem
At the end of this very long letter to her friend in the book "so long a letter" by mariama ba, Ramatouaye tells Aissatou that "The nation is made up of all the families, rich or poor, united or separated, aware or unaware. The success of a nation therefor depends inevitable on the family" (Bâ 89). What does the author mean by that? What is Bâ trying to point out? How do the readings from the previous week (Margot Canaday's "With the Ugly Word Written Across It," and the story about Andrew, Elad and their sons) support or challenge Bâ's statement about the nation depending on families?
