Research Question: How do individuals with type 2 diabetes perceive the impact of their diagnosis on their overall quality of life, including emotional well-being, social relationships, and career prospects? Research Design: Mixed Methods Design Research Methods: Mixed Research method Explanation: Patients with type 2 diabetes normally suffer from psychological distress (Knowles et al., 2020); hence, the need of understanding patient's perception on the same matter. A mixed methods study can provide both quantitative and qualitative data to gain a comprehensive understanding of the impact of type 2 diabetes on individuals' lives. Using mixed method as explained by Creswell and Creswell (2023) is crucial because it helps the researcher to seek convergence across qualitative and quantitative methods. Using this research method can also help the researcher to use qualitative data to explain the quantitative results (TRU Open Learning, 2023b). Quantitative data may be collected through surveys and data analysis done through regression analysis. Interviews will then follow to collect qualitative data and data from interviews analyzed through thematic analysis. Integrating both qualitative and quantitative data will aid validation.
