Problem:

Anesthesia The right thoracic limb was clipped and aseptically prepped. A catheter was placed intravenously into the right cephalic vein following sedation with medetomidine (20 μg/kg IM). Some phlebitis was noted. Anesthesia was induced with propofol to effect (2.6 mg/kg IV). Cefazolin 20 mg/kg IV was dosed as antibiotic prophylaxis. Patient received I.V. fluids of lactated ringers solution 5 ml/kg/hr. Patient was periodically hypotensive and hypothermic (99F) during anesthesia. Received I.V. fluid bolus (10 ml/kg) once and was placed in a Bair hugger. Fluid therapy was continued with 250 ml fluids S.Q. post-op. Recovery was slow with some periods of dysphoria. Expect dysphoria for the next 1-2 hours. Catheter was removed, bandage placed over catheterized vein and removed prior to dismissal. how did the patient do under anestesia .Translate a doctor's medical records to discharge instructions which are easily understandable by the owner of a patient who just underwent anesthesia and gastrointestinal surgery.
