Problem: The descriptive method uses a constructivist perspective which means that the information needed for the research question is structured open ended and is developed through interaction with the subjects and uses collaboration to finalize a solution. The cross-sectional design refers to how the data is collected. In a cross-sectional design "data on the independent and outcome variables are collected concurrently, but the independent variable usually involves events or behaviors occurring in the past" (Polit & Beck, 2022, pg. 129). This method of research supports the research question.
