1. Data tracking is certainly an important tool used by many institutions, including, but not limited to international organizations as being discussed, researchers, and government entities. But one of the main challenges in aid data tracking is the lack of standardization and consistency in reporting. Several donors and recipients often have different methods and criteria for classifying and reporting aid, which can lead to inconsistencies and inaccuracies in the data. An example of this occurrence is that some donors may include military assistance in their aid figures, while others may exclude it.
2. The aid data has its limitations as it is restricted to recording quantities and cannot predict and estimate the outcomes of fund utilization and transfer. Furthermore, the aid data is overly general and lacks precision and relevance. These shortcomings hinder research and the advancement of data. Additionally, the recording and storage levels of data vary among different countries. Some countries lack the necessary scientific and technological capabilities to adequately record data, let alone ensure its accuracy.
