How cultural values are promoted in the classroom

Problem: How would you respond to this?

Teachers can promote choice, autonomy, inclusivity, and problem-solving skills during small group instruction and during learning centers by planning and implementing lessons that are engaging and offer a variety of ways to learn. As students participate in small groups and learning centers the teacher can ask the students questions to assess what they know and to determine what they need to learn. Lessons should be engaging and offer a variety of ways students receive information so that all student learning styles are met. To promote inclusivity, student differences such as culture and disabilities should not be overlooked but carefully thought out to ensure that all student needs and differences are met. Also, when students have a voice and a choice in what and how lessons are presented, learning can increase. This can support the Christian worldview of restoration for individuals, families, and communities because students are actively participating in what they learn and their cultural values are promoted in the classroom.
