Risk Management and PIR
Understanding the process of risk management entails understanding the underlying factors that contribute to project risks.
1. The article by Zwikael and Ahn (2011) helping show the importance of risk management as a major factor in determining the success of a project. Zwikael and Ahn (2011) use a multinational and multi-industry study to examine the effectiveness of risk management practices. He suggested the following hypotheses:
o H1: The level of project risk varies across countries.
o H2: The level of project risk varies across industries.
o H3: Project risk is negatively correlated withproject success level.
o H4: Risk management planning moderates the relationshipbetween levels of project risk andproject success.
I welcome your thoughts on this.
2. How could you link between Post Implementation review (PIR) and risk management.
3. Explain at least two potential issues that may arise when a project closure is not performed, including how you might resolve these issues. Be specific and use examples from your own personal experience to support your post.
4. Explain two ways a post-implementation review can enable a project manager to improve future projects.
