Problem: Caribbean are making changes to promote more sequestration. However, my thoughts are around the trade-off for this. If more carbon is being sequestered then the chemical properties if water should also change. Data shows larger carbon amounts in water leads to lower pH levels and acidification that impact coral reefs and other aquatic organisms. Do you think here the importance of higher sequestration exceeds the potential acidification in the water? How could this impact the biodiversity in the Caribbean?
