Problem
You are a leader of a team of health professionals in the critical care division, developing a new early mobility guideline for ventilated patients in the intensive care units. Early mobility is any active exercise where the patients could assist with the activity using their own muscle strength and control while receiving mechanical ventilation. The quality improvement team consists of you as the team lead; a third-year critical care resident; an anesthesiologist (ad hoc); an ICU nurse, a physical therapist, and a respiratory therapist. You have benchmarked with other ICUs in the region and have obtained some guidelines in place from other institutions. Additionally, you have obtained some baseline analytics for each ICU including ventilator days and hospital length of stay for ventilator patients
