Peer assessment can be beneficial for ELLs when supported strategically; however, there can be challenges if the giving of feedback turns to harsh criticism. What guidelines might a teacher provide to students when asking them to assess another student's work? How can you ensure productive partnerships when pairing native English speakers with ELLs?
