Problem: Netflix recently released the first season of the series 13 Reasons Why and contracted for a second season. This series occurs in the aftermath of the suicide of an adolescent girl. She left behind a collection of tapes that describe how others have hurt her, one for each of 13 people. While some have hailed the series as important to stimulating needed conversations about adolescent suicide, others describe it as poorly conceived and even outright dangerous. Think as a social worker: How can the media address adolescent suicide in helpful ways?
