Problem:
One of the basic ingredients for human rights is political stability. When political stability is lacking, government cannot carry out its responsibilities to protect the rights of its citizens. Outline the origins and major tenants of Just War Theory. Then, offer a scholarly and biblically supported position on whether war can be justified in the name of cultivating, protecting, and/or advancing human rights. Conclude by articulating how the tenants of Just War Theory inform Christian perspective on war-related activities, such as torture.
