Problem
I. Use the internet and look up published "sustainability" policies or definitions or materials for at least 2 global tire companies or industry trade groups. The 12 companies making up the "US Tire Manufacturers Associations" might be good places to start: //www.ustires.org/ List some of the sources you used to research this.
II. Summarize what you find, providing specific answers. How are these companies defining sustainability? What is included? What is not included? What do you think of their definitions and approach to "sustainability" for their products?
III. Have these companies mentioned "toxic chemicals" or environmental health as any part of their sustainability discussion or materials? Should they have? Is a tire that contains a toxic chemical still "sustainable" from the company or industry perspective? What about from your perspective?
