Assignment: Book Report
To complete this assignment, you are required to read the novel The Marrow Thieves, written by Canadian Indigenous author Cherie Dimaline, and prepare a book report in the following format; 5-page written report, 5-10 min recorded presentation, 5-10 min podcast, or a 2-page infographic.
Part I: Summary
You must answer the following questions:
1. What is the book about?
a. Where and when does the story take place?
b. Who are the main characters? What is their role in the storyline?
c. What is the main issue of the book? Why is it happening?
d. How are the characters dealing with the main issue?
Part II: Reflection (Each person will complete this individually)
You must answer the following questions:
1. What did you like the most about the book? Why?
2. What did you like the least about the book? Why?
3. Who was your favorite character and why?
4. Who was your least favorite character and why?
5. What are your feelings at the end of the book? Did you like or dislike the ending?
Part III: Analysis
Explain how the major themes in the book connect with the material covered and discussed in the course and reflect on whether the book transformed your thinking about those themes.
Provide direct connections with course content and specific examples in the book to back-up your statements. A minimum of three themes must be discussed from the following list:
